Finding Joy in the Everyday #27

Happy Wednesday All!

Hope, Vanessa and I have decided to feature a post each week from the previous week’s link up.  A different feature for each of our blogs.  They won’t be based on the number of clicks or anything like that.  Just a posts we like!

So, my first highlight is:  Be At Peace With All by Just Plain Marie.

Here is a snibit from her post, “The Old Order Mennonites have a practice that is profound in its simplicity and yet incredible in its effect upon the members and their relationships. For those who may not know, Christians are admonished to “inasmuch as it is possible, be at peace with all” (and many of us really rely on that notwithstanding clause …)”

Marie tells us how serious the Mennonite community takes communion and all the steps taken before partaking of it, making sure they are right with the Lord and their fellow man first.

Meaning, forgiving, truly forgiving others and asking forgiveness when we know we have wronged someone.  Even asking forgiveness when we know someone is mad at us and we may not know why.  Just doing our best to be at peace with everyone in our life.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. – Galatians 5:17-23

  1. finding joy in the everyday 27

I’ve been reading a lot of Amish books lately. I wish I had the strength to live the way they do. I think they are on the right track. I’m just too used to “worldly” conveniences. But there is so much that pulls us from God and each other in the “Englisher’s” world.

Very true. It would be quite difficult to live that way having been raised ‘in’ the world. Thanks for stopping by Mama!

  2. finding joy in the everyday 27

Waking up in the morning and realizing I have a home and meals has become major reasons of joy to me, Mary.
We are living difficult times. Only by being grateful for what we have we can achieve true happiness.
    Have a beautiful week!

  3. finding joy in the everyday 27 Nikki Frank-Hamilton

Perfect post for me right now. We are walking through some tough times as a family and I turn to God as if he is sitting right beside me, we chat, talk, cry and pray together. I have been able to keep putting one foot in front of the other with his help and I do find joy, grace and gratefulness, no matter how turbulent it all is. Thanks so much for your words, I needed them right now.
